Top footballer Cristiano Ronaldo recently returned to play for the Manchester United Football Club after leaving Juventus. The £19.8 million deal has brought Ronaldo back to the team where he became a famous footballer in the first place and pushed his earnings for the football club over one billion dollars. Ronaldo’s return has had some unintended consequences as well: it appears his return has inspired fellow players to start eating healthier. Insiders say United teammates are adopting Ronaldo’s strict healthy diet. Ronaldo eats avocado, quinoa, and other healthy foods to stay at the top of his game and in the best shape possible.

    Cristiano Ronaldo’s Diet

Since Cristiano returned to United, his teammates have observed his eating habits for clues into what makes him such a phenomenal player. Since then, fewer players are eating junk foods or drinking carbonated beverages, and many more are incorporating similar foods that Ronaldo swears by. For example, Ronaldo eats avocado almost every day. He eats 6 meals each day, spaced 3 to 4 hours apart. He favors chicken over red meat, eats plenty of fresh fruit, grains, and fresh fish, and never eats anything that was frozen. He eats plenty of salad, cheeses, low-fat yogurts, and, of course, Ronaldo eats avocado toast.

    A Typical Diet Ronaldo Eats

Breakfast: Low-fat yogurt and some cheese with ham.

    Brunch: Chicken over salad.

Lunch: Tuna with olives, egg, and tomato.

Snack: Ronaldo eats avocado on toast and fresh fruit.

Supper: Fresh fish and a salad.

Dinner: Another fresh seafood like calamari.

    Cristiano Ronaldo’s Workout

In addition to his squad workouts with fellow Manchester United players, Cristiano has his own personal workout plan. He exercises on his own 5 days a week for 25 to 30 minutes of cardio, high-intensity sprints, and targeted weights with the goal of increasing speed, explosiveness, and muscle strength. Ronaldo typically works out for 3 to 4 hours each day. He balances all this exercise with up to 5 naps each day, saying that proper sleep is the essential ingredient in getting the most out of training and allowing muscles to recover. All that hard work definitely pays off; Ronaldo has just 7% body fat compared to the average footballer’s 11%.

Cristiano Ronaldo is almost militant with his diet and exercise regimen so that he can stay at the top of his game. It makes total sense, then, that he relies on nutrient-dense foods like avocados and other fruits, grains, chicken, and fish to fuel his athletic body and career.
